Easiest Red Tomato Sauce

For pasta, to spread over steak, as a pizza crust topping, for anything tomato sauce!


2 tablespoons olive oil
2 pressed garlic cloves
2 red tomatoes cut in small chunks
1 can tomato paste
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 cup water

In a medium pot over medium heat add 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Heat and add 2 pressed garlic cloves, let them release its fragrance only, it should only be translucent and add the 2 chopped red tomatoes 🍅
Stir and add 2 regular size cans cubed tomatoes liquid and all
Rinse the cans each with 1/4 cup water and add it to the pot
Add the canned tomato paste, rinse the can with a little water and add it to the pot Dissolve the tomato paste in the pot into all the other tomatoes
Add 1 teaspoon salt and 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
Let it boil and add 1/2 cup water
Blend, easier with an immersion blender if you have one 😃, or if you don't have one use a regular blender being careful not to add the sauce to the blender hot or the lid will pop out 😅

Taste for balance of salt and sugar and if it’s too thick add a little more water
